Who can register?
The Valais BCVS Marathon is open to everyone, subject to the minimum age requirements for each race:
The age taken into account is the age reached by the end of 2027.
How do I sign up?
Registration is available online on the Marathon du Valais BCVS website until May 21, 2027, at 11:59 p.m.
On-site registration will also be available at the Marathon Village at Martigny Expo on May 22 and 23, up to one hour before the start of the respective race, subject to availability.
I'm a minor. Do I need parental consent?
By registering for the Half Marathon, 10K, 10K Walk, Ekiden Marathon, or La Trott’aux Fous, the minor participant confirms that they are participating under the responsibility of their parents.
For the Kids & Family programs, parents register their children directly.

Can I cancel or change my registration?
Yes, subject to the specified terms and deadlines.
With the MaxiFlex option, you can, until May 14, 2027, at 11:59 p.m.:
Without MaxiFlex, certain changes may still be made until 11:59 p.m. on April 30, 2027, subject to fees and the applicable terms and conditions. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Is a medical certificate or a license required?
No. No license or medical certificate is required to participate in the events.
The organization nevertheless recommends that participants consult a doctor to confirm their ability to engage in this type of physical activity.
How can I tell if my registration has been successfully processed?
Once you've completed your registration, you'll receive a confirmation email. Be sure to check your spam folder as well if you can't find it in your inbox.
I received a discount or free offer code. Where do I enter it?
When you register, first select your race. You’ll then see a field where you can enter your discount or free registration code and verify its validity before finalizing your registration.
Please note: Copy and paste does not work. Be sure to enter your code manually.
Where and when can I pick up my number?
You can pick up your race bib in advance at Decathlon Martigny from Monday, May 17, through Friday, May 21, 2027, during store hours.
On the weekend of the event, tickets can also be picked up at Martigny Expo:
Please note: You must pick up your race bib no later than 30 minutes before the start of your race.
What documents do I need to pick up my race bib?
Your pick-up card will be sent to you by email one week before the event.

Can someone else pick up my race bib for me?
Yes. If you can't come in person, someone else can pick up your race bib for you by presenting your pickup card and a copy of your ID.
It is also possible to pick up multiple race bibs for members of the same group.
For the Ekiden Marathon, only one team member may pick up the envelope containing the team’s race number for all runners.
When will my bib number be announced?
You will be given your bib number a few days before the event.
Where do the departures take place?
All races will start at Martigny Expo on May 22 and 23, 2027.
Start times and starting areas vary by race. Find all the times in the program or directly on your race's page.
Where is the finish line?
All races finish at Martigny Expo, where you'll also find the Marathon Village and the weekend's activities.
Will there be different starting groups?
Yes. For some races, multiple starting corridors are set up based on estimated pace to ensure a smooth start.
Your starting wave will depend on the pace you specified when you registered.
I want to run with a friend, but we're not in the same starting corral. What should I do?
If you want to start the race with a friend, be sure to indicate the same estimated pace when you register so that you’ll be placed in the same starting corral.
Is it possible to leave a bag of personal belongings?
Yes. You can drop off your bag in the “athlete bag drop-off” area at Martigny Expo.
Where are the checkpoints for the Ekiden Marathon?
The Ekiden Marathon consists of 6 legs:
The race bib is passed between relay runners at the designated relay points located at the aid stations.
Are there locker rooms and showers?
Yes. Locker rooms and showers are available at the Stade d’Octodure in Martigny, just a few minutes from Martigny Expo.
Are there any aid stations along the course?
Yes. Refreshment stations are set up along the courses so you can recharge during your race.

Yes, pacemakers will be present at several races:
Are there any time restrictions?
Yes. Time limits are in place for safety reasons. If you reach a checkpoint after the specified time, you will not be able to continue the race from that point and will not be included in the results. Once the time limit has passed, safety measures and the timing system are discontinued.

What should I do if I quit during my run?
If you have to drop out, notify the organizers by speaking to a staff member at a aid station or a safety officer, or call the emergency number listed on your race bib.
Where can I find the rules?
The official rules for the 2027 Valais BCVS Marathon are available on our website. There you’ll find all the rules and conditions that apply to the various races.
When and where can I see my results?
Your results will be available on MSO on the day of the event. Live tracking will also be available so your friends and family can follow your race.
Are there any prize giveaways?
Yes. The following, among others, will be recognized:
Age groups are ranked, but no podium ceremony is held for these categories. Prizes must be picked up on site on race day and will not be mailed later.
The schedule for the awards ceremonies will be posted in the Runner's Guide and on our social media channels.
Are the Kids & Family races ranked?
Children are timed individually, but no rankings by category or performance are compiled. The results are published in alphabetical order only.
The goal is to emphasize participation, the joy of running, and the festive spirit of the event rather than competition.
Where can I get my medal?
You'll receive your Finisher medal at the finish line. As soon as you cross the finish line, you'll be able to brag about it (and rightly so), because yes, you did it!
Where can I find my photos?
Photos taken during the event will be available from our partner, KUVA.
You can also pre-order your Photo Pack for 29 CHF when you register—compared to 34 CHF after the event—so you can view and download your photos after the race.
Can my supporters come to cheer me on along the course?
Yes! Your loved ones can come cheer you on at various points along the course.
Since some roads will be closed during the races, we recommend using public transportation and non-motorized transportation to get between the different points along the route.
Can my companions come to the start and finish lines?
Yes! Your loved ones are welcome at Martigny Expo to watch the starts and finishes and enjoy the atmosphere at the Marathon Village.
How can I become a volunteer?
The Valais BCVS Marathon is also an adventure made possible by the energy and smiles of our volunteers!
Volunteer registration will open in January 2027.
